U.S. Under Secretary of Education Martha Kanter and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Rural Outreach John White will speak about the value of community colleges to the economic future of rural America during a meeting of the White House Rural Council this morning at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.

The Obama Administration, through a Memorandum of Understanding between the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Rural Community College Alliance and the American Association of Community Colleges, will leverage USDA resources to increase the availability of capital for educational facilities and to provide technical assistance with the goal of improving the accessibility and quality of education in rural communities.
