Juan Sepúlveda, executive director of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics, will address the "Closing the Latino Achievement Gap Orange County 2011 Summit," Friday in Santa Ana, Calif., hosted by Santa Ana College in collaboration with Santa Ana Unified School District and other partners.
Sepúlveda will highlight the importance of focusing early and continuously on English language learners as a means of promoting educational excellence for Hispanics. He will discuss the value of local education improvement projects and the role they play in school reform.
