U.S. Under Secretary Martha Kanter will moderate a panel, “Preparing Students (and Teachers) for College and Career Readiness: College and Business Expectations in a Global Marketplace,” at the 42nd annual National Association of Bilingual Education (NABE) conference at 4:30 p.m. ET, on Friday, Feb. 8, in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
Part of NABE’s National Education Leadership Forum, the panel will focus on what’s needed to prepare students to compete successfully in the workplace and international economy. The nine-person panel is comprised of key national leaders with expertise in early learning, college- and career-ready standards, accountability, assessment, and technology, and will be chaired by Eduardo Padrón, President of Miami-Dade College.
More than 2,000 parents, teachers, administrators, policy makers, future teachers and professors dedicated to serving bilingual and English learners in the United States will be attending the NABE conference.
