U.S. Under Secretary of Education Martha Kanter will deliver the commencement addresses at both Rollins College graduation ceremonies taking place on the campus Saturday and Sunday, May 12 and 13. She will discuss a broad range of subjects, including President Obama’s 2020 goal for America to once again lead the world in college graduates, overcoming diversity, and the need to provide every student in this country with a world class education is an economic necessity and a moral imperative.
On Saturday, May 12, at 10 a.m.ET, Kanter will give the keynote at the ceremony of the Hamilton Holt School, which offers evening and weekend classes to accommodate a diverse population, primarily working adults with family responsibilities. About 275 students ranging in age from 22 to 62 will receive their bachelor’s and master’s degrees at this year’s ceremony.
On Sunday at 10:00 a.m. ET, Kanter will deliver the commencement address at Rollins College’s graduation ceremony for some 350 undergraduate students.
