U.S. Under Secretary of Education Martha Kanter will deliver the keynote call to action at the College Changes Everything conference hosted by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission. Kanter will address college presidents and admissions officials as well as high school superintendents, principals, guidance counselors, community-based leaders and government officials at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27, at the Tinley Park Convention Center in Tinley Park, Ill.
Discussions at the event will range from best practices to increase college success and how to eliminate the graduation gap for students of color. Kanter will highlight the need to boost college completion in order for the United States to once again have the highest proportion of college graduates and to strengthen America's workforce. She will commend Illinois leaders for their efforts and encourage them to continue their good work to increase access to high-quality education.
