U.S. Secretary of Education to Keynote Microsoft Forum

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will keynote the seventh annual Microsoft Partners in Learning Global Forum on Tuesday, Nov. 8, in Washington, D.C. Anthony Salcito, Microsoft’s vice president for education, will join Duncan for a major announcement about the company’s commitments to support education. A press conference will take place from 8:35-9:05 a.m.

The Microsoft Partners in Learning Program focuses on improving teaching and learning through the effective use of technology in the classroom. Throughout the year, educators and school leaders are encouraged to participate in a series of professional development events and selected competitions. This year, the competitive process culminates in the Partners in Learning Global Forum in the District of Columbia, where 18 awards will be given to the most innovative teachers and school leaders from around the world. The forum, which will take place Nov. 7–10, will bring together more than 700 of the most innovative global educators.
