U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will host a roundtable discussion on the American Jobs Act on Friday, Oct. 14, at 11:15 a.m. at Richmond Community High School in Richmond, Va.
Secretary Duncan will meet with students, parents, teachers, administrators, and community leaders to discuss how the American Jobs Act will renovate and modernize public schools in Virginia and across the U.S.
The Secretary's visit will include a tour, led by students, to see science labs in need of new equipment and classrooms that would benefit from technology upgrades. By funding facility improvements and teacher salaries, the American Jobs Act will help schools such as Richmond Community better provide the resources that students need to prepare for college and 21st century careers.
