Secretary Duncan will keynote the National Association of Secondary School Principals’ (NASSP) annual conference on Thursday, Feb. 28, in National Harbor, Md. He will discuss the need to support and strengthen school leadership, and the urgency of ensuring that all students graduate from high school ready for both college and careers. Duncan also will address recent improvements in high-school graduation rates and the national decline in the number of high-school “dropout factories.” A question-and-answer session will follow.
The three-day conference will take place Feb. 28-March 2. Sessions will provide school leaders with the opportunity to interact with and learn from their colleagues who are achieving academic success, facing similar challenges in their schools and more. The National Association of Secondary School Principals serves principals, assistant principals and aspiring school leaders at both middle- and high-school levels.
