U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan and National Institute for Early Education Research (NIEER) Director Steve Barnett will visit Bancroft Elementary School at 10 a.m. EDT on Tuesday, April 10, to discuss the NIEER 10th Anniversary Release of the State of Preschool Yearbook, which outlines states' efforts to deliver high-quality preschool education to children most in need. A question and answer session will follow their remarks.
The 2011 State Preschool Yearbook is the latest in a decade of annual reports profiling state-funded prekindergarten programs in the United States. The Yearbook presents data on state-funded prekindergarten during the 2010-2011 school year, including rankings of all 50 states on quality standards, funding and access to state preschool programs since 2001.
