U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan and National Institute for Early Education Research (NIEER) Director Steve Barnett will hold a press call at 2:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday, April 3 to discuss the NIEER 10th Anniversary release of the State of Preschool Yearbook. The call will coincide with NIEER's release of the 2011 report which outlines states' efforts to deliver high-quality preschool education to children most in need.
The 2011 State Preschool Yearbook is the latest in a decade of annual reports profiling state-funded prekindergarten programs in the United States. The Yearbook presents data on state-funded prekindergarten during the 2010-2011 school year, including rankings of all 50 states on quality standards, funding and access to state preschool programs since 2001. The report is embargoed for 12:01 a.m. EDT on April 10.
