Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services Assistant Secretary Alexa Posny will address the Division of Early Childhood Conference on Nov. 16 at 9 a.m. at the Gaylord Hotel in National Harbor, Md. Posny will highlight the 25th Anniversary of the Part C statute and discuss the importance of the new IDEA Part C regulations to help ensure quality services for infants and toddlers with disabilities.
The Division for Early Childhood (DEC) is an international membership organization for those who work with, or on behalf of, young children with disabilities and other special needs. Their mission is to promote policies and advance evidence-based practices to support the optimal development of young children with special needs.
At 7:15 p.m. on Nov. 16, Posny will address the Autistic Self Advocacy Network at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. On the 5th anniversary celebration of the Network, Posny will convey support for the self-advocacy movement and talk about the future of post-secondary transition for students with autism and disabilities in general. Members of the D.C. disability policy community, Autistic adults and those with other disabilities, parents and family members will be in attendance.
