U.S. Deputy Secretary of Education Tony Miller will kick off the first in a series of Capitol Hill briefings during Black History Month on Wednesday, Feb. 13, in the Rayburn House Office Building. The series, “Helping the Poor and Maintaining the Middle Class,” focuses on a comprehensive approach to addressing the needs of the interdependent family unit. Miller will highlight the importance of ensuring that all students, including African Americans, are prepared to compete in an increasingly global economy. He also will discuss the Department’s efforts to ensure that everyone has access to quality education and training from the cradle through college and career.
