Jim Shelton, assistant deputy secretary for the Office of Innovation and Improvement, will participate in a panel discussion at the National Journal Policy Summit at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at Union Station’s Columbus Club at Union Station in Washington, D.C. The panel, “Education for Success: The Nexus between College Completion and American Competitiveness,” will focus on what stakeholders in education policy can do to improve the rates at which Americans attend and complete college. In the face of today’s global economy, in which many nations compete, the President has set a national goal for once again leading the world in college completion by 2020.
