U.S. Department of Education Senior Advisor on Early Learning Jacqueline Jones will deliver remarks on Tuesday, March 6, at an event focusing on the importance of high-quality early learning in education reform at JP Morgan Chase Bank in Chicago. Jones will discuss the importance of early learning for all children, from birth to 3rd grade.

The event, organized by the Chicago Pre-College Science & Engineering Program (ChiS&E), will bring together Chicago educators, elected officials, corporate and foundation executives, and others interested in early learning. ChiS&E is an innovative program designed to develop student and parent knowledge in science and engineering, instill a love of learning in these areas, and provide parents and teachers with tools and experience to prepare the scientists and engineers of tomorrow.

At 3 p.m., Jones will speak at the U.S. Department of Education Striving Readers Comprehensive Literacy Grantee Meeting, where she will discuss the importance of starting early to prepare children for success in reading. This meeting will bring together Striving Readers grantees from across the country to share ideas and resources for improving their literacy programs.
