Assistant Secretary Alexa Posny will address the annual Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Leadership Conference Monday in Washington. She will discuss education reform, equity and the Education Department’s disability strategy, which focuses on President Obama’s goal of having the highest proportion of college graduates in the world by 2020.
The 2012 IDEA Leadership Conference will bring together key leaders and partners from the state and local levels, as well as department-funded technical assistance providers involved with the education of America’s infants, toddlers, children and youth with disabilities.
Posny heads the department's Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services, which includes programs aimed at helping and improving results and outcomes for the nation's infants, toddlers, children and adults with disabilities.
