Greg Darnieder, the Secretary of Education’s special advisor on college access, will give closing remarks at the Iowa ACT State Organization annual conference at 1:30 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Feb. 29, in Ames, Iowa. The conference will focus on building relationships among educators across all levels to ensure student readiness for a successful transition from high school to postsecondary education and the workforce. More than 200 high school guidance counselors, curriculum directors, principals, superintendents, college admission directors and counselors, and workforce development representatives from throughout the state are expected to attend.
In his remarks, entitled “Creating Educational Change for America’s Future,” Darnieder will discuss effective community strategies and best practices for improving college enrollment and completion, as well as the Department’s FAFSA pilot project that aims to increase FAFSA completion at the state and district level.
