Rosemarie Nassif, special advisor to the assistant secretary for postsecondary education, will participate on a panel on “What Constitutes a Quality Degree and Its Purpose: A Look at the External and Internal Forces” at 1:30 p.m. PT on Thursday, April 19, in Phoenix, Ariz. Nassif will discuss President Obama’s completion agenda and the Education Department’s efforts to address the challenges of affordability, diversity, and quality.
Nassif’s presentation is part of a panel discussion at the Western Academic Leadership Forum’s annual meeting. Other panelists are Paul Gaston, Kent State University; Dominique Raymond, Complete College America; and Paul Thayer, Colorado State University. The panel discussion will be moderated by Sona Andrews from the Oregon University system, and a question and answer session will follow. Some 75 academic leaders from two- and four- year institutions and state higher education agencies from 15 western states will be attending.
