Senior U.S. Education Official to Visit Henry County High School and Speak at School Improvement Grant Conference in Georgia

U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary Jason Snyder will visit Henry County High School in McDonough, Ga. on Wednesday, March 7 at 11:30 a.m. Henry County High School is using School Improvement Grant funds to turnaround the school and to improve student achievement. The school is committed to ensuring educational success for each student, with targeted efforts to foster a culture of high expectations and to meet the needs of students with various learning styles, while pursuing and promoting parent and stakeholder engagement.

On Thursday, March 8, Snyder will serve as a guest speaker at the Georgia School Improvement Grant Conference in Athens. The conference's theme will focus on “Continuing a Sense of Urgency” and the sharing of best practices among SIG schools focusing on the following topics: Organizational Structures, Leadership and Personnel and Professional Development.
