U.S. Department of Education Senior Advisors Michael Robbins and Ken Bedell will visit Nashville, Tenn., on Thursday, May 3, to participate in a “Together for Tomorrow” roundtable discussion on the value of community engagement in education to propel school improvement.
Together for Tomorrow is a national initiative to spotlight and foster partnerships among schools, families, national service programs, and community-based programs in order to turn around low-performing schools. The roundtable will highlight the work of Alignment Nashville, a coordinated effort that aligns resources and organizations to develop successful community schools, and other efforts in the Nashville area. Participants in the discussion will learn how to showcase and advance their work through the recently announced Together for Tomorrow School Improvement Challenge (TFT.challenge.gov).
