Brenda Girton-Mitchell, the U.S. Education Department’s director of Faith-based Education and Neighborhood Partnerships, will give the keynote address at the annual appreciation dinner of the Buffalo area Network of Religious Communities at 6:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, May 3. She will discuss the importance of interfaith engagement around education to propel school improvement and tackle community challenges. She will also discuss the Obama Administration’s Together for Tomorrow School Improvement Challenge and the work of the President’s Interfaith Community Campus Challenge.
The annual appreciation dinner of Buffalo’s Network of Religious Communities, an interfaith council, will honor 75 outstanding community volunteers from local congregations.
