Senior Official to Discuss Education Reform at the Military Child Education Coalition's National Training Seminar

Deputy Chief of Staff Eric Waldo will participate in the Military Child Education Coalition’s 14th National Training Seminar, “Military Kids: Shining from Sea to Sea,” on Thursday, June 28, in Grapevine, Texas. He will take part in a “Distinguished Lecture Session” and a “Senior Leaders’ Panel Discussion” on education reform and the Department’s cradle-to-career efforts to ensure that students are ready to compete in the 21st century global economy. The lecture will take place at 10:15 a.m., and the panel discussion will convene at 3:30 p.m.

Founded in 1998, the Military Child Education Coalition is an advocacy organization devoted to ensuring that the children of military families receive quality educational opportunities and are college and career ready. In keeping with its mission to ensure educational opportunities for the nation’s nearly 2 million military-connected children, the organization advocates for Common Core Standards in areas such as math, reading-language arts and science across all 50 states.
