Frank Chong, the U.S. Department of Education’s deputy assistant secretary for Vocational and Adult Education, will serve as one of two panelists at the National Lieutenant Governors Association annual meeting in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Wednesday, July 27, at 11:30 a.m. Entitled, “Educating the 21st Century Workforce for Prosperity in an Increasingly Global Economy,” the panel will focus on engaging adult learners and effectively harnessing technology in this endeavor. Chong will discuss the President’s college completion goal and the need to increase training and degrees for adults to drive a more competitive and prepared workforce in the 21st century. Demi Michelau of the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education will discuss initiatives that lead to success in distance and online education.
