Suzanne Immerman, the U.S. Department of Education’s director of Strategic Partnerships, will address more than 200 leaders of community, private, and corporate grantmaking foundations at the Foundations on the Hill gathering at 8 a.m. Thursday, March 22, at the Mayflower Renaissance Hotel in Washington, D.C. She will discuss the Department's approach to partnering with the philanthropic sector and share successes and challenges of public-private partnerships in education.
Cosponsored by the Council on Foundations and the Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers, the event is held annually to give grantmakers an opportunity to discuss how unique, public philanthropic partnerships may benefit government, serve citizens, and develop innovative, affordable solutions to long-term social problems.
