U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will deliver remarks at the 2012 National Council for Community and Education Partnerships’ (NCCEP) Annual GEAR UP Conference in Washington, D.C. The conference, titled “E4 (R)EVOLUTION: Education, Empowerment, Equity & Economics,” will bring together GEAR UP and other college access professionals, as well as their partners to discuss and share promising practices within their programs. Duncan will discuss the Department’s higher education agenda and the importance of GEAR UP and other programs to achieve President Obama’s national goal of leading the world in college completion by 2020.
Senior Advisor for Non-profit Partnerships Michael Robbins will also hold an afternoon session on blended learning partnerships and how the evolution of digital learning can strengthen partnerships between schools, families and community-based organizations to propel student learning.
