Secretaries Duncan, Napolitano to Highlight Recovery Efforts during Visit to Joplin

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Deputy Administrator Rich Serino will visit Joplin, Mo., on Thursday to meet with students, teachers and faculty as well as local officials and receive an update on how the Joplin community is continuing to recover from the May 2011 tornado. During their visit, Secretaries Duncan and Napolitano and Deputy Administrator Serino will tour affected sites, including a high school; host roundtable discussions with state, local and community officials, including Joplin Public Schools Superintendent C.J. Huff and Joplin City Manager Mark Rohr; and participate in a media availability.
