White House Hispanic Education Initiative Director, Deputy Director to Participate in San Antonio Conference

Juan Sepúlveda, executive director of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanic Americans, and Deputy Director José Rico will discuss the Obama administration's strategies to increase Latino students' access to a quality education on Friday, June 24 in San Antonio. Their remarks will take place during the 28th Annual Conference of the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials.

Sepúlveda and Rico will describe the administration's efforts to improve Latino rates of education attainment to keep the U.S. competitive in a global economy. They will share excerpts from the initiative's report, Winning the Future: Improving Education for the Latino Community, and highlight the issues behind Latino degree completion.
