Johan E. Uvin, acting assistant secretary for career, technical and adult education at the U.S. Department of Education, will address state leaders of career technical education at the fall meeting of the Advance CTE organization Wednesday in suburban Baltimore.

Uvin will speak at the beginning of a 50-minute session where Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education officials will provide updates on federal policies. The office is responsible for the Department's adult education portfolio, including corrections and reentry education, secondary, postsecondary and adult career and technical education, and community colleges.

Advance CTE's 2016 fall meeting is a bi-annual conference of state career technical education leaders, where they receive timely updates on state and federal activities.
