U.S. Under Secretary of Education Martha Kanter will deliver opening remarks and participate in a panel discussion at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute’s 2013 Young Latino Leaders Summit Series on Monday, April 15, in Washington, D.C. Kanter’s remarks will focus on the Obama Administration’s second-term education agenda and the impact it will have on Hispanic students and families. Kanter also will discuss the Department’s commitment to improving educational opportunities and resources for Latino students. The panel discussion will be followed by a question-and-answer session.
The summit series focuses on timely issues, such as education, health, housing and more, that directly impact the Latino community and the nation. Members of Congress, congressional staffers, public policy experts, national leaders and others are invited to attend sessions that are held on Capitol Hill.
