U.S. Under Secretary of Education Martha Kanter will participate in an Educator-Employer Forum hosted by the Association of American Colleges and Universities on Wednesday, April 10, in Washington, D.C. Kanter will participate in a roundtable, “It Takes More Than a Major: Right-Sizing National Priorities for Higher Education Policy and Practices.” She will discuss the future of higher education and the Department of Education’s work around access, quality, affordability and completion.

The forum, “Making High-Quality Learning Our Priority as Americans Go to College,” will bring together more than 200 distinguished leaders in business, higher education, and the nonprofit sectors. It will focus on employers’ needs in the 21st century global economy and how those needs and skills relate to current higher education programs. During the forum, a new initiative designed to promote collaboration between business and institutions of higher education will be launched.
