U.S. Under Secretary of Education Martha Kanter will discuss rising college costs and the President's plan to make college more affordable for students and families at the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges 2013 Fall Plenary session on Thursday, Nov. 7, in Irvine, Calif. In her remarks, Kanter also will highlight resources that provide consumers with easy-to-understand information about college costs and affordability, including the College Scorecard and Financial Aid Shopping Sheet.
The Academic Senate for California Community Colleges' three-day plenary, "Engineering Success: Gearing Up for the Future," will take place Nov. 7-9 and will address such topics as proposed performance metrics and accreditation standards for California’s community colleges, among other things.
