U.S. Under Secretary Martha Kanter will give opening remarks at a workshop on international education at 8:15 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 23, in Washington, D.C. She will discuss the Department’s international strategy, “Succeeding Globally through International Education and Engagement,” focusing on the objective to ensure that all U.S. students acquire broad global competencies.
Sponsored by the Department, the conference is both a project directors meeting and technical assistance workshop that will convene more than 500 faculty and staff from institutions of higher education who are administering international education projects funded by the Department, as well as representatives from education associations, stakeholders, and colleagues from the State and Defense departments who are also involved in international education.
