U.S. Secretary of Education John B. King Jr. will testify on the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) before the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee at 10 a.m. ET on Wednesday, June 29. He will discuss the importance of implementing ESSA in a way that supports and sustains educational equity and excellence for all students. The hearing will be held in the Dirksen Senate Office Building, Room 430.

Passed by both houses of Congress with bipartisan support and signed into law by President Obama last year, ESSA expands the work that the Administration, states, school districts and schools across the country have already started. ESSA offers an opportunity to reclaim the promise of a high-quality, well-rounded education for every student. The Department is committed to ensuring that implementation makes good on that promise.

The hearing will be livestreamed here.
