U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will give brief remarks during the opening general session of the National League of Cities’ (NLC) Congressional City Conference on Monday, March 10, in Washington, D.C. His remarks will focus on strengthening partnerships among federal and local governments, schools, families and other organizations. Following the session, Duncan will participate in a media availability with NLC President Chris Coleman and other mayors.
NLC is the oldest, largest and most representative organization serving municipal governments. Its 2014 Congressional City Conference, which will bring together more than 2,000 elected and appointed city leaders, is focused on educating members about federal issues affecting cities and towns.
