U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will travel to Chicago on Monday for a pair of events.

First, Secretary Duncan will visit Benito Juarez Community Academy where he will participate in a roundtable discussion with staff from the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics to hear from local students, parents and educators about the work being carried out at the academy and the progress being made toward increasing the high school graduation rate, decreasing the dropout rate, and accessing postsecondary education for Hispanic students.

In the evening, Secretary Duncan will attend a dinner meeting at the Economic Club of Chicago where he will join Wendy Kopp, CEO of Teach for All and founder of Teach for America, for a moderated, wide-ranging conversation about education issues in the United States and abroad. Attendees at the dinner will include local business and civic leaders.
