U.S. Under Secretary of Education Ted Mitchell will speak at the National Advisory Committee on Institutional Quality and Integrity (NACIQI) Biannual Meeting in Arlington, Virginia, at 8:30 a.m. ET on Wednesday, June 22.
Mitchell will provide an update on the Administration's work to increase access and affordability for the nation's increasingly diverse college population through renewed focus on student outcomes on the part of accreditors and institutions. He will also discuss the recently announced slate of executive actions and legislative proposals to strengthen the focus on outcomes in accreditation.
NACIQI is an advisory body that makes recommendations to the U.S. Secretary of Education on matters related to accreditation and to the recognition of specific accrediting agencies. The biannual meeting serves as a forum to deliberate and provide recommendations for accrediting agency recognition, and to allow NACIQI members to frame NACIQI's policy agenda.
