U.S. Under Secretary of Education Ted Mitchell will have a “fireside chat” with education policy expert and writer Tom Toch as part of the Yale New-Haven Teachers Institute National Conference on Friday, Oct. 30 in New Haven, Connecticut. They will discuss the role of the Teachers Institute in supporting and retaining teachers in high-need schools. Toch is the director of the Center on the Future of American Education, McCourt School of Public Policy, Georgetown University.

The conference is a follow up to a commitment Yale University made at the December 2014 White House College Opportunity Day of Action.

The Yale-New Haven Teachers Institute is an educational partnership between Yale University and the New Haven Public Schools, designed to strengthen teaching and learning in local schools and in schools across the country.
