U.S. Education Under Secretary Kanter to Participate in NISOD's International Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence in Austin

U.S. Education Under Secretary of Education Martha Kanter will participate in the 33rd annual International Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence of the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) on Sunday, May 29, in Austin, Tex. Kanter and Walter Bumphus, president and chief executive officer of the American Association of Community Colleges, will be interviewed by Suanne Davis Roueche, director of NISOD, on the topic, "From Washington, D.C. to Your Community College: What the National Agenda Means to You."

More than 700 community colleges are members of NISOD, the outreach and service arm of the Community College Leadership Program at the University of Texas at Austin, which is a doctoral level training program for community college presidents, vice presidents, and deans. More than 1,800 community college staff and administrators are expected to attend.
