U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will give remarks at the inaugural National Board for Professional Teaching Standards’ (NBPTS) 2014 Teaching & Learning Conference in Washington, D.C. He will discuss the role of teacher leaders in transforming teaching and learning. A panel discussion on teacher leadership, how to foster it in schools and how to empower teachers to lead change will follow.
The Teaching & Learning 2014 conference is a new, flagship event in support of NBPTS’ mission to advance student learning, professionalize teaching and elevate the priorities of educators nationwide. The conference will give attendees an opportunity to share their stories, gain new tools, learn from the nation’s top innovators and get inspired to lead in their classrooms and communities.
