U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will deliver the morning keynote address at Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell's education summit Wednesday at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond.
The goal of the conference is to highlight Gov. McDonnell’s K-12 and higher education agenda and to focus on the state's new education laws for public charter schools, virtual schools, and college partnership laboratory schools. In his remarks, Secretary Duncan will provide his vision for education — specifically, opportunity and options for all students. About 300 state and local elected officials, school superintendents, teachers, college and university officials, education association leaders, and non-profit organization members are expected to attend.
