U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will address the 36th Annual Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Public Policy Conference Monday in Washington D.C. He will discuss the administration's key education priorities, including President Obama's proposal to expand access to early childhood education and make college more affordable.
This year's conference, "Education, Economy and Workforce: A Stronger America," will focus on the state of economic recovery and how Latino leadership and a Latino workforce will help lead the country into the 21st century. Secretary Duncan will stress how education is tied to the success of the workforce, economy and innovation. Also, he will highlight how Hispanic-Serving Institutions can help strengthen higher education.
