U.S. Education Secretary Duncan and U.S. Labor Secretary Solis to Give Remarks at National Conference of Black Mayors Policy Summit in Washington, D.C.

U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan, joined by U.S. Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis, will keynote the National Conference of Black Mayors Legislative Policy Summit at 9:50 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, at the Capitol Visitors Center in Washington, D.C. He will discuss the role of mayors in education reform and the urgency to reauthorize the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, also known as No Child Left Behind.

The three-day policy summit—“Leveraging Intergovernmental Strategies and Resources”—is taking place today through Thursday, June 23. The National Conference of Black Mayors was founded in 1974 and represents African American mayors across the country.
