U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will visit Denver June 9-10 for a town hall meeting on the importance of strong and effective classroom teachers at the University of Colorado Denver and a Clinton Global Initiative panel discussion on college and career readiness.
On Tuesday at 3:25 p.m. MT, Duncan will participate in an educator town hall at the University of Colorado Denver's School of Education and Human Development. During the event, he will discuss the importance of elevating the teaching profession and promoting teacher leadership before participating in a panel discussion.
On Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. MT, Duncan will participate in a panel discussion moderated by CNN's Poppy Harlow called "The Business Case for Investing in America's Workforce," at the Clinton Global Initiative America meeting in Denver. He will discuss the importance of college- and career-readiness for all of our nation's young people. He will also discuss aligning higher education to the industry needs, and the work the Obama Administration has done to promote partnerships between businesses and community colleges.
