Carl Harris, deputy assistant secretary for policy and state technical assistance for the Office of Elementary and Secondary Education at the U.S. Department of Education, will discuss the Department’s work to ensure that every student is provided with a high quality education at the North Carolina New Schools Project (NCNSP) Summer Institute tomorrow in Durham, N.C. The theme of the event is “Acting on Our Beliefs: Every Student Ready.” Harris will address an audience of 500 teachers, principals, and counselors in NCNSP partner schools.
The North Carolina New Schools Project was launched in 2003 and since then has worked with school districts and educators to develop more than 100 innovative high schools in every region of the state. In supporting the planning and implementation of new schools, NCNSP partners with colleges and universities, state and local government, and supporters in business and philanthropy. Its vision is to make sure that every student in North Carolina
