U.S. Education Department Senior Official to Moderate Panel on Championing Access for Minority Small Businesses

David Johns, executive director of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for African Americans (Initiative), will moderate a panel titled “Small Business Matter: Championing Access for Small Businesses” on Thursday, Feb. 25 in Washington, D.C. Hosted by Maria Contreras-Sweet, administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and a member of President Obama’s Cabinet, panelists will discuss the importance of a diverse entrepreneurship ecosystem and developing the entrepreneurial spirit.

Topics will include the President’s My Brother’s Keeper Initiative, access to capital, financial literacy, and entrepreneur development. The Initiative is partnering with the SBA, the U.S. Black Chamber of Commerce, the National Urban League, and WeWork.
