U.S. Deputy Secretary of Education to Deliver Commencement Address for Fayetteville State University

U.S. Deputy Secretary of Education Tony Miller will deliver the commencement address to some 500 graduates during Fayetteville State University’s commencement ceremonies at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 7, at the Cumberland County Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, N.C. Miller will discuss the role of Historically Black Colleges and Universities in the knowledge economy, the roles that college graduates can play in helping the nation meet the challenges of improving the education system, and the importance of nurturing 21st century skills.

FSU is the second oldest public institution in North Carolina. The university has nearly 6,000 students and offers degrees in more than 60 undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
