The Center for Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships’ Brenda Girton-Mitchell, director; Michael Robbins, senior advisor for nonprofit partnerships; and Ken Bedell, senior policy advisor; will host a roundtable on the value of family and community partnerships in helping to propel school improvement on Tuesday, May 21, at Cafécollege in San Antonio, Texas. The community roundtable is part of the "Together for Tomorrow" national initiative to spotlight and foster partnerships among schools, families, national service programs, and community-based organizations in order to help turn around low-performing schools.
Girton-Mitchell, Robbins and Bedell will meet with civic and community leaders, state and local educators, parents and others to discuss the Together for Tomorrow initiative, spotlight examples of local programs, and lead an open discussion with participants. The event will be streamed live at http://www.livestream.com/saeducation.
