The U.S. Department of Education’s Director of the Office of Special Education Programs, Melody Musgrove, will participate in a panel discussion at the American Institutes for Research (AIR)-English Language Learners Center symposium, which will focus on connecting research, practice and policy to improve achievement for English Language Learners. Musgrove will discuss “Federal Policy Implications: Implementing High-Quality RTI Models for All Students.”
Response to Intervention (RTI) is a multi-level approach to maximize student achievement by providing support to at-risk students. The approach includes: core instruction for all students; universal screening; increasingly intensive instructional interventions for students who need extra help, and progress monitoring.
