Alberto Retana, Director of Community Outreach for the U.S. Department of Education, will talk with parent leaders about the need to reauthorize the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) at the District 23 6th Annual Title I Parent Involvement Conference on Saturday, March 26 at Frederick Douglas Academy VII in Brooklyn. The conference agenda will include discussions with parents on parental engagement strategies, special education, common core standards, college preparation and other federal and state education initiatives. It will also include an open forum with District 23 middle and high school students on college completion.
