Jamienne Studley, U.S. deputy under secretary of education, will deliver the commencement address at the College of Education graduation ceremonies Saturday at California State University, Dominguez Hills in Carson, California.
Earlier in her career, Studley served as president of Skidmore College in New York and associate dean and lecturer in law at Yale Law School. In recent months, she has been acting under secretary of education pending the Senate confirmation last week of Under Secretary Ted Mitchell.
A native of Woodridge, New York, Studley earned her bachelor's degree from Barnard College and law degree from Harvard Law School.
