Senior Education Official to Deliver Keynote Remarks at Churches and Communities Connecting Leadership Conference in Cincinnati

The Rev. Brenda Girton-Mitchell, director of the Center for Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships, will deliver keynote remarks at the Churches & Communities Connecting Leadership Training Conference on Saturday, Oct. 26 in Cincinnati. Her remarks will address the importance of effective partnerships and how churches can provide leadership in the community.

In addition to speeches and presentations on the church and partnerships with community outreach programs, the event will include two breakout sessions that cover: developing mentoring programs for young men; grants designed to help parent centers strengthen families and encourage healthy relationships; drug rehabilitation programs; using fundraising and grants to support churches’ outreach ministries; basic steps for starting an outreach ministry; and, establishing a marriage ministry.

The conference is being sponsored by Cincinnati-based Saving African American Families, whose goal is to promote the betterment of the lives of African Americans. The organization provides workshops, seminars, conferences, and programs and outreach campaigns targeting African Americans, although their services are open to everyone.
